Seconded for a SOHO/workgroup. I have a Brother which is several years
old and only supports USB, no duplex either, but it's a fine little
workhorse. You can always flip the pages to get double sided copies when
required. Unlike my old HP 2100 flipping freshly printed pages doesn't
cause a jam, there is no constant odour of ozone and it powers itself off
after a short while. It wakes itself up when you send a job to it.
If I need colour printing I do have an old inkjet in a cupboard, but to
be honest there are plenty of places around who will print a few pages
for you quite cheaply and they have good quality equipment. There are
also self service machines which will print photos from CD, USB stick or
camera card at quite reasonable rates, though I haven't tried these.
