There is a huge difference between allowing someone with a demonstrated
need to obtain/carry a firearm, and enshrining in the constitution the
right for anyone and anyone to bear any arm.

In an urban area, a husband doesn't need a firearm. But a husband who
always carries a gun with him is more likely to kill his wife when she
accuses him of being a slob or criticises him for not having taken out
the garbage yet. (impulse killings).
