There was a BBC sitcom called "Allo Allo". It is situated in France 
during WWII. It is pure 100% comedy, no one in his right mind can think 
it has anything to do with reality. Never the less the actor who played 
Herr Flick of the Gestapo was once slapped in his face for being a 
Gestapo officer when he was walking the street.
