Big picture: perhaps HP has been taking on too many things and unable to
 digest them properly.

Last I heard, Autonomy was positive cash flow for HP, but HP was having
problems integrating it (so that HP sales force could sell Autonomy's
products etc). The cynic in me think sthat by the time HP is done
integrating Autonomy, the original customers will move away because of
problems and bad service.
