Of course. Clinton was the only elected president to be impeached.
[Lincoln's VP was, as well, after becoming president. But he was not
elected to the office directly].
And you have the same misconception we all had as school boys:
successful impeachment as removal from office. Impeachment means a
trial will occur. Neither Clinton nor Andrew Johnson was removed
from office.
The one person who left office under duress was neither impeached nor
tried, but he pretty much knew what the outcome would have been.
Interesting that he had appointed his own successor beforehand,
presumably due to circumstances he had no role in bringing about.
