In the same vein a French colleague told me about piece of newsreel which
was only rarely shown on French TV because it didn't paint the right
picture. It showed large crowds of French welcoming the Germans as they
entered Paris. Life has to go on and I imagine there were plenty of
restaurants and hotels who benefited from the trade.
