An RX50 5.25" dual-floppy drive was far more common on the pre- and
non-TK50 MicroVAX II boxes, and RX50 was a VMS distro medium.

Dual 3.5" floppies on a MicroVAX? Can't say I've seen one of those,
nor a Q-bus FDC. (Though some versions of the early floppy drives
including the RX33 were SCSI or had SCSI variants, so it was
protentially feasible to get dual 3.5" drives off a KZQSA or a
third-party Q-bus controller. Whether the KZQSA or the third-party
SCSI widget even worked with the floppy drive...)

But I'm betting it was an RX50 you're remembering.

But then floppy drives are zombie peripherals; mostly dead.
Thankfully. Why am I posting in the floppy thread? Make it stop.
Please.
