I'm pretty convinced that has to do with a suboptimal way to generate
sufficiently random data in sufficient amounts, and not with the actual
crypto functions used. For fun I've tried that using RMI as input and
doing an AES-512 hash over it reseeding and rehashing a couple of times.
ent, a simple random tester judged the data 6.9 bits of 8 random, so good
enough for a test ( but not for production use, randomness is an academic
science in itself ).
Anyway, the test took a fraction of a second, as opposed to the seconds it
takes the OpenSSL tool to come up with a certificate.
