Definition "ally".  Only slightly less of an opponent than enemy.

Definition "enemy".  Only slightly more of an opponent than an ally ...

Sort of like a DEC salesperson.  Loss of a sale to another DEC salesperson is 
only slightly less of a loss than loss of a sale to IBM ...   or not ...
