You could do the same to show that Digital was once much bigger that
Microsoft, Compaq, Apple etc.
Valuations are used to compare. If you are to compare Apple to
Microsoft, you need to compare their respective value sampled at the
same time.
Apple has grown out of its computing roots and is now mass market
consumer electronics. Microsoft hasn't made that jump.
If one were to compare Apple's computer business to Microsoft, I
suspect MS would still be quite a bit larger.
