I think presario were the consumer machines, weren't they ?. I'm
more thinking of deskpro and the earlier pro workstations such as ap400,
ap500 etc, all of which were very good value s/user. I never buy new here,
always s/user corporate grade machines. Current desktop 'pc' is an ML350,
because it needs to go in the rack, there's a lot of capability in the
box and
loads of space for added cards and drives. Use the same sort of machines
for s/w development, where the tools demand a pc, and at least with the
g3 / g4 series, they are cheap enough to dedicate to a single client if
needed...
