[Info-vax] Entering simple log message in operator.log from DCL ?

Hi.

Is there a simple way to enter simple log messages
into operator.log from DCL ?

Some batch jobs we have use a '$ REPLY/TO=OPA0: "Job XYZ started"'
but there is nothing saving output sent to OPA0:.

Is there some variation of REPLY (or something else from DCL) that
will write a custom made entry to operator.log ?
