Perhaps in the early days, before having the confidence to tell the client
the unvarnished truth, but never now. If you are faced with old 
impenetrable
sources and take an age to reverse engineer and make progress, the client
blames you anyway for the mess and you end up leaving anyway. Better to 
move
on and leave them to it. If you canm't make a decent job of something, then
don't tell them that you think you can.

Never be so broke that you can't afford to leave town, as the song goes 
:-)...
