Here is the REQUEST and REPLY using numbers, which you might have been
thinking of:

Session A (user):

$ req/to=central test/repl
%OPCOM-S-OPRNOTIF, operator has been notified, waiting... 12:21:24.11

Session B (operator):

%%%%%%%%%%%  OPCOM  24-AUG-2012 12:21:24.13  %%%%%%%%%%%    (from node NODE1 at
 24-AUG-2012 12:21:24.11)
Request 1, from user HELBIG on NODE1
_NODE1$LTA5765:, TEST

$ repl/to=1

12:21:24.11, request 1 was completed by operator _NODE3$LTA5024:

Session A (user):

%OPCOM-S-OPREPLY,

12:21:24.11, request 1 was completed by operator _NODE3$LTA5024:

Normally, instead of "TEST" the user would ask "please check the tape
drive and let me know when I can use it again" and the operator would
add something like "tape is working again" to his reply. :-)
