Must have been a newbee salesdroid.  The correct DEC solution would be
two $30 RS-232 cables and a DEC Null Modem which probably cost you $50.
( I actually have one here somewhere but couldn't lay my hand on it at
the moment or I would give you th Model Number  H-something.)
