Two papers on my Web site related to changing file ownership indifferently on Windows/OpenVMS/Linux using a coding approach:
1/ C version:
http://vouters.dyndns.org/tima/Linux-OpenVMS-C-Implementing_chown.html
2/ Java version:
http://vouters.dyndns.org/tima/Linux-OpenVMS-Java-Implementing_chown_in_Java.html
An OpenVMS fallout of the C version I advise as a possible workaround to an OpenVMS constraint:
http://vouters.dyndns.org/tima/OpenVMS-Symlink-How_to_DCL_create_a_symbolic_link.html
(this URL content has already been posted in this forum. Its content has been updated and now appears to me as final).
The Java version in 2/ above is for pure OpenVMS/Windows/Unix fans as one can indifferently specify an OpenVMS/Windows/Linux pure file syntax as an input argument to the program running on any of the OpenVMS/Windows/Linux operating system.
Best,
Philippe
