[Info-vax] DE500 to DE500 woes

Just a quick update as I've been going round the houses a bit.

I ordered a DE602-BB but this doesn't work in the AS1000A because it requires firmware revision 6.1 or above.

I ordered a DE602-AA but this doesn't work either - even though the minimum firmware revision of 5.7 is installed. Looks like someone else has tried this and got the same problems (search comp.os.vms for '7.3 supported ethernet') - the card is recognised by the SRM firmware but not configured. On boot the machine restarts with an error after the 'OpenVMS Alpha 8.3' message.

So looks like I'm stuck with the DE500-AA. Seems to me given current experiences I've had with the AS1000A that it is particularly picky about options.
