Here's an update.  In the meantime, I successfully installed two Compaq-
branded Ensoniq AudioPCI cards into my DS10s.

The version of MMOV on the HP web site wouldn't work, but someone was
very kind to share a newer/newest version of MMOV (V2.2-1) with me,
which does actually work! The version on HP's web site (V2.2, available
here[*]) would give me an error under VMS V8.4, after invoking SYSMAN
IO AUTOCONFIGURE, that the Ensoniq driver image wasn't linked properly
(or not against a recent enough version of VMS, apparently). MMOV
V2.2-1 works fine, on the other hand.

It's very interesting to have a VMS system with audio capabilities, I
must say! (Especially after using I64 for quite some time.) I wish HP
would release MMOV for I64 and support more devices. (Not just for
audio, though.)
