Do not be too negative. I can confirm that HP already has the infra 
structure/knowledge how to do this:

Part of my machines run on a educational license which I have to renew 
each year. It takes me a few mouse clicks every year on a HP-website and 
  receive the packs in my E-mail-box. The whole procedure takes far less 
than one hour.
