Not every person has the time to reverse engineer the LMF shareable
image to figure out how to have it accept any licence, or always return
"success" when an application asks if it has a valid licence.


Having a background door available via some package you can easily
install would be welcome, not as a day to day thing you use, but for
some unforeseen circumstances where your hobbyists licences are expired
and you can't get new ones in time (or can't get new ones period).

Having this available as a backup also puts pressiure on HP to continue
the programme, knowing that if they stop it, people will still continue
to use VMS as hobbyists but with a hack to bypass LMF or generate their
own paks. And I suspect HP would much rather the self generation of PAKs
not become commonly known and commonly used.
