For matters of practical discretion, the VLF conceal their analogue
world identities, masks, super-heroism, comes with the territory.

:-) NO.

Last time I visited anyone's VMS system it was the mighty DEATHROW
public VMS cluster, some time ago - full marks to that operation for
maintaining VMS mind-share.

The VLF are not interested in hacking into anyone's systems, we are
interested solely in debugging HP management's VMS policy.

Insurance, rainy-day Plan B, disaster recovery planning (HP management
totally losing the plot), calling HP management and policy on VMS to
account - myriad uses - most of them in potential.

Dream, envision, use your imagination, consult your inner Gandhi and
Machiavelli, light a candle underneath your picture of Big Ken and ask
for advice.

That was clarified previously.

The LibreVMS LMFgen is for non-commercial hobbyists as a backup should
things get seriously pear-shaped.

Got hobbist licences - use them.

Look, the LibreVMS LMFgen is a public instance, I'd be surprised if
the LMF has not been bypassed before, quite possibly by commerical
users - who certainly never will publically declare such - whilst a
technical accomplishment, you do not need advanced degrees in rocket
science.

The heart and essence of the LibreVMS LMFgen project is to ensure
access to VMS and to rebuild VMS mind-share, by ensuring that no-one
is locked out of the party, no matter how far down the tree of
circumstance, they are, or how capricious and shallow HP management
becomes.

Oh, you are a bundle of joy, Phillip, perhaps you have a circular bed.

Perhaps you are drinking too much of the cool-aid from the temple of
selfishness where you work (to wit: the stock exchange).

Pot, kettle, black, I used to work for an investment bank, back in the
day.

Instead of the cool-aid, I'd recommend those fine german lagers.

(There you have it, I used to work for a bank and I like beer, that
should narrow down the field)

Saludos cordiales.

PS: Phillip, you can report usefully from the field, what is the VMS
situation where you work, why does the stock exchange use VMS and what
are it's long term plans - do they have difficulty finding staff that
don't need zimmer frames, are they planning to migrate to other
platforms and architectures, or are they committed to VMS, verily unto
Gotterdammerung?
