There's a language I haven't heard from in a while.  Back in the early
90's Eiffel was well supported on VMS, I was a defacto beta tester of
those versions.  Unfortunately ISE ( Interactive Software Engineering,
now Eiffel corp) drifted into the .net windows world and their few VMS
customers went with them.  From my point of view, Eiffel is _the_
object oriented language and it's one of those sad cases in the IT
world where quality doesn't always win.  Did you know that Java has a
marketing department?

Have to be a bit careful what I write here, back in the day I
criticized an Eiffel release and I got a call from Betrand Meyer
himself.  I could hardly under what he was saying but he was obviously
pretty worked up.   Like getting a call from God!
