   What?  And destroy the mystery?

   What?  And destroy the mystery?

   Without a useful problem description, I seem unable to
reproduce the problem. Around here, with the current
development code, all the dots I've found are put out by
something like:
      fprintf(stdout,"%c",'.');
which, if anything, is lame because it puts out one record
per dot, not a huge number of dots per record. A quick look
at the Zip 3.0 code suggests that it'd do the same thing.

   I did find a comment (zip.c):
    /* maybe should turn off dots in default verbose mode */
It'd be fine with me if "-v" (/VERBOSE) didn't enable the
progress dots. I'll ask the Zip maintainer about this.

   In the mean time, providing a useful problem description
might help reduce the time wasted on guesswork. As usual,
showing actual commands with their actual output can be more
helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

   Just a thought.
