The problem is that when the VMS receiver split lines, it mereley
inserted a line break without adding a white space at start of the new
line which created an invalid RFC822 header.
I have not upgraded to the version that reportedly fixed that so I can't
verify that this was properly fixed.
The rationale for this was allegedly that allowing lines linger than 256
characters would have broken delivery of messages via decnet.
