It's easier to adjust when other traffic is around to serve as a reminder 
of which side you are supposed to drive on.  At first you can easily 
forget if you are on a deserted country road for a long period of time.

The painful bit is when the wrong hand involuntarily goes out to change 
gear and you hit a window winder with the back of your hand instead.
