The current state of OpenSSL program "s_client.c" can only be described as horrible. Probably due to the number of people who appear to have to modified it, along with all the conditional compile statements, it would never pass a code review. Anyway, I have finally found the time to fix the program and have posted the solution(s) here:

I have "tested" solutions for:
HP-OpenSSL-1.3-281
HP-OpenSSL-1.4
HP-OpenSSL-1.3-453
and one "untested" solution for:
OPENSSL-100G (from Swedish hacker site http://polarhome.com/openssl/ )
