Maybe not, but from what I see, that is changing. I have a friend who is installing solar
panel systems, and 2011 had him quite busy.
Pennsylvania had set up a fund to help the installation of solar. It was supposed to be
funded for a number of years. The response was much greater than anticipated, and the
funding has already been totally used up. There is now talk of re-doing it with more
funding, but, my friend says the prices are coming down so fast that such help isn't
really required.
One big problem is the electric companies who must provide the special meters to allow
electricity to be fed back to the grid. They place obstacles, fees, and such, and some
serious foot dragging on installing the meters. I can see their perspective, every system
is a lost customer.
