I just recently went through hell with my DS10 running the all mighty
VMS operating system said to have so much integrity to prevent such errors.
Turns out that they didn't bother writing the IDE driver to report disk
errors. So the disk was failing and I kept seeing "0 errors" on the drive.
And that dates back from the last days of Digital. So can't blme that
one on the newbie programmers who replaced the real VMS engineering team.
