Thanks, John. I will try it using VMware player - I have it installed already and there may be a way to "export" the Windows XP VM from VirtualBox to VMware.

That said, I did look up that my CPU does not support VT-x and I did verify that that means no dual-core capability in VirtualBox. That may not apply to VMware Player, though.

My laptop has the wireless NIC as well, and my ADSL router has wireless capability. At the moment, though, I have it deactivated and I'm somewhat reluctant to turn it on. I'd actually prefer shelling out the bucks for a wired ExpressCard NIC than to use wireless. You're right, though - that is another option.
