[Info-vax] FreeAXP loses network connectivity when laptop is woken up from "sleep"

The plot thickens. After I posted the previous message, I tried executing 'dir' in '\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox' with Administrator privileges. The file ('winxp.vmdk') is not listed. And yet, WinDirStat shows it and claims it resides in that directory. This is in spite of the fact that I definitely did not have Administrator privileges when I ran the command and thus could not have created any file in that directory (I tried by doing 'edit foo.bar' and then save - it says 'Access denied').

I double-checked all the directory and file names, so I know I'm not just missing something. WinDirStat says file is there, but 'dir' doesn't show it. Nor does Windows Explorer (and yes, I have it set to display system and hidden files). However, if I click on "Compatible files" (whatever that means) in Windows Explorer, it takes me to a different directory with the godawfully long name \Users\User\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox and that directory has just one file in it, and sure enough, it's 'winxp.vmdk' - the file I was looking for.

That instance of the file (the 'VirtualStore' instance) shows up in WinDirStat as a separate file. I repeat - in WinDirStat I see two files, one in '\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox' and the other in the '....\VirtualStore\...' directory.

However, when I deleted the '...\VirtualStore\...' instance (the only one I could see in Windows Explorer, and hence the only one I could delete), and re-ran WinDirStat, both instances of the file were gone.

I guess it's behaving as it should, and I just don't know the ropes. But if someone understands this behavior and can explain it to me, I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
Nathan
