   VAX and PDP-11 have lessons learned in common:  similar addressing
   modes, including autoincrement and autodecrement.  Similar data
   types, but VAX added G and H float.

   But PDP-11 uses a fixed length 16 bit instruction and VAX uses a
   variable length instruction, starting at one byte.  There is really
   little similarity in the actual instructions.
