SNMP won't work for you. The only way to check whether a DS100 or
DS200 is reachable is to connect to
its remote console. This uses the MC NCP CONNECT <node> VIA <service
circuit> command.
The terminal server must have its mac address rgistered in the NCP
database, along with a DECnet name and DECnet address because
NCP requires that.
The caveat is that the CONNECT command may not work from DCL. If so
TSM is your friend.
