Oracle licensed the TruCluster technology, which it put into Oracle RAC.
None of that technology seems to have made it into Oracle Linux or now
Solaris.
Microsoft bought a non-exclusive license to the VMScluster patents. DEC
wrote a distributed lock manager and clusterwide file system for
Windows, and Microsoft bought that technology along with the team of
developers. But we've seen no sign of that technology in MSCS either.
