   VMS 1 ran on the 11/780, and SIMH does emulate the 11/780.  What
   is not clear to me is whether SIMH's 11/780 includes compatability
   mode.

   Much of VMS 1 was RSX utilities running in compatability mode.

   If SIMH's 11/780 does not include compatability mode, it should be
   possible, but possibly not trivial, to add it from SIMH' PDP-11
   simulation.
