The message should be time after the transfer finishes.
It might also happen if the TCP connection itself times out,
but I believe that should be different.
After the transfer, you have (usually) 15 minutes to type the
next command. You can, of course, type ahead a bye command.
Otherwise, use wget or wput and avoid interactive transfers.
