OS-X is moot as Apple exited the server market. They had interesting
efforts to use GPU as compute assist, but that was before Jobs decided
to get out of the server market. I suspect effors to develop the Unix
side of OS-X have slowed greatly once they decided to make OS-X more
like IOS.
Also, the heavy compute apps on OS-X tend to be games and things like
Google Earth which already make use of the GPU to render graphics.
