Out of curiosity, are there any hints/news of problems/struggle forcing
a delay ?

This image I have is of a very relaxed development cycle with the chip
no longer having to compete against others, and just needing to provide
big performance improvement over Tukwila. So it shouldn't be hard for
them to release something on schedule.

It isn't as if IA64 was on an agressive development schedule with huge
expectations of performance to compete against x86, sparc and Power. Its
role is to give existing installed base something to upgrade to.

So its only competitor is Tukwila.

And considering HP has all but written off BCS, it seems to me that
there won't be much pressure on Intel to increase performance, the
pressure will be to release a chip on the agreed upon schedule.
