I believe what I read was that they expected the BCS "MARKET" to shrink.

I'd consider the BCS market to be all the large servers, HP and otherwise.

Does that mean that the total market will continue to grow, thus making 
the BCS market a smaller part of the total market, even if the BCS 
market stays the same size, or even grows a bit?

If everyone in the BCS market loses business, then perhaps HP might be 
correct.  But what if the entire server market doesn't tank, just HP's 
share?  Now, that could be your "self fulfilling prophecy".

Now, I'm just a dumb polock who knows nothing.  Even so, I'm willing to 
say that the server market isn't growing like tablets and smart phones, 
but I don't see servers going out of style.
