In a previous life, I ran our cluster with the RECNXINTERVAL
set to 300 (5 mins) due to unreliable network infrastructure.
Only after the networking stablized (that is, after a 2-3 years)
did I put RECNXINTERVAL back to something more "reasonable".

There are no inherent problems with a long RECNXINTERVAL other
than (some vague memories I have of) lengthened cluster transistion
times.
