The "smart host" is, I believe, the "alternate gateway", and hence has 
nothing directly to do with the queues.  I do as much as possible on my 
VMS systems at home, but have to use an alternate gateway since many 
folks have (understandably) blocked email from "dial-up" addresses.  Do 
you have a static IP address?
