Tried that.  it says there is nothing wrong with the disk.

That didn't work either.

By the way, they were:
     Treatment 3: Boot from your system/repair disk.
and
     Treatment 4: Check for a valid System Folder.

:-)

I have about reacjed the point of doing Treatment 7: Perform a clean install.
