Running OpenVMS VAX is (or was) not my goal. I'd prefer to run a modern
version of OpenVMS on a hardware architecture that is (or was), at least,
viable in the 21st century.
I've downloaded and installed AlphaVM-free on an HP Envy running Ubuntu.
I still need to work out some of the issues for local network access to
it to make it usable but it's functional. FWIW, I've been extremely ill
in the recent weeks, so it was a REALLY PLEASANT SURPRISE to find that
AlphaVM-free installed, configured and ran without any undue pain! I'm
presently experiencing more than enough pain. ;) What a drag it is get-
ting old.
