   These are temporary files, not entered into any directory, which
   automatically get deleted when closed.  Most likely they are gone,
   but if not they might be found by a priviledged user via 
   analyze/disk_structure, which might report the FID, and then they
   could be accessed by FID.

   Caution:  if they are there, and you do analyze/disk_structure/repair
   then they almost certainly will go away.

   Most likely the "retain on error" applies to the queue entry, not the
   file.
