I assume you are talking about revenue and not market capitalization.
Apple's market cap is through the roof - and I don't believe Microsoft is
in the running.

Going back to revenue, though, remember that Apple markets appliances
first.  Its secondary income is from computers, computers which have
historically been a lot closer to being appliances than those things
that run Windows.  And I suspect a miniscule portion of their income
is from software, unless they are somehow splitting OS/X out as a
separate line item on every computer sold.

So it's comparing apples and er.. er.. whatever they are - lumps of
coal?
