SET LINE is for communication with an actual line (physical, including 
through LAT). Check if there is a SET HOST command in that version of 
KERMIT as well. (There should be, if it's a sane version of C-Kermit, 
and that is what you use for IP.)

As for logging, that would be LOG SESSION, I think.
