Many drivers simply do not understand how much room to give
motorcyclists, nor do they understand braking distances in the wet.
Cyclists are often ignored too. A friend who was a keen amateur rider
had a driver overtake then turn left (this in the UK) in front of him
and he had nowhere to go except into the car. The driver genuinely
didn't believe that cyclists could go so fast.
