Apart from firmware installations, my main use for ODS-2 floppies was 
for transferring the Hobbyists licenses onto a fresh installation of VMS.

I.e. get them onto a VMS system with networking already configured, INIT 
a floppy and put the Hobbyist licenses on it (taking out any bad 
formatting introduced by mail), then put that floppy in your Hobbyists 
system to copy the license file and apply it.
