Yes, it was a bit weird. I have upgraded a few system to 8.4 and
have not seen this particular issue before. Now, the environment
in this case is a bit special.

1.
On system 1 (current "prod", DS20e V8.2) an image backup saveset
is created from the system disk. This is FTP'ed to a second
DS20e ("test") which is connected to the IBM DS8000 SAN.

2.
On the second system the saveset is restored to a SAN disk.
This system is only part of the picture to get the system
image onto the SAN.

3.
On a third DS20e (new "prod" system) another SAN disk
was booted containing an image of the 8.4 CD distribution.
An upgrade 8.2->8.4 is made of the disk created in step 2.

It was during the post-upgrade reboot and AUTOGEN in step 3
that the problem occured.

Current (old) environment:
Prod: DS20e using local HSZ/HSG (old) StorageWorks storage.
Test: DS20e using SAN storage
Dev: AS800 using local in-box disks.

The Goal is to have three DS20e's with the same hardware
config and all storage on the SAN. Any of the three boxes
can have any "role" simply by selecting boot-device.

The prod system is running OK at the moment, so maybe we'll
skip the 8.2/8.4 upgrade now and focus on getting the server
move. We can upgrade during site closing during the summer.

Jan-Erik.
