You might not know that Steve Lionel was once the main VMS Fortran guru. 
On the other hand, he doesn't work for HP, so it is hard to say how 
definitive his assessment is.  I would suspect, though, that he would 
know about any plans for support of later versions, but that is perhaps 
not something one would expect you to know.
