The following presumes controller RAID and not OpenVMS host-based RAID.

Disk replacement details can vary by configuration; depending on
whether there were already spares available in the shelf or not, etc.

Here are the available manuals for that series controller
<http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&cc=us&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=433888&printver=true>

Here's the service manual for the HSG80 controller
<http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00309754/c00309754.pdf>

The disk replacement sequences are documented in that service manual,
starting on pages 83 and 94.

Also consider a discussion with your preferred used-equipment providers
around an upgrade to a less-old fibre channel storage controller such
as an MSA series controller, and preferably with some less-old disks,
too. The HSG80 series controllers are very old, and the disks
typically connected with those controllers are typically low-capacity,
and slow, and often hot.
